Special graffiti artworks were completed in 3 days from 17th to 19th July in Warsaw at Free Tibet Roundabout for freedom and human rights promotion. Over 100 participants attended creation of wall mural painting more than 100 metres long with such an element as street name plate with inscription "Free Tibet Roundabout". Mural unveiling ceremony was held with the participation of politicians such as Wola District Councilor Michał Kubiak- initiator of Free Tibet Roundobout and member of Polish Parliamentary Tibet Group Michał Szczerba. This event was very significant, especially that City Council's decision to give a name "Roundabout of Free Tibet" to unnamed Roundabout is postponed after official protest submitted by Embassy of PRC in Warsaw to Poland's Foreign Office. It is also worth reminding that China blocks commercial contracts with countries demanding human rights and Poland's authorities highly estimate economic cooperation with China regarding Euro 2012 (also they considered chinese offer for the construction of the most important section of underground line 2 in Warsaw).
Other Space Foundation and 3fala.art.pl Group supervised painting creation with the participation of people intending to take part and passing by, locals, volounteers working for Other Space Foundation, trainees from the office in Olsztyn of Beata Bublewicz- chairperson of Polish parliamentary Tibet Group. This event was covered by reporters.
Graffiti features Tibetan flag, Mahakala that is one of the most revered Tibetan protector deities, mediatating monks, mantras, mandalas and ordinairy people supporting Free Tibet. One of the very important parts of our work is a portrait of His Holiness Dalai Lama who will be conferred with the Honorary Citizenship of Warsaw on 29 July. When Dalai Lama previously visited Poland in December 2008, he attended ceremonies to mark the 25th anniversary of the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to former Polish president Lech Walesa. During conference in Gdansk Dalai Lama also met French President Nicolas Sarkozy. This will be the Dalai Lama’s fourth visit to Poland.
